Lois "Beth" Horton Hughes

Lois "Beth" Horton Hughes, 68, of Walterboro, South Carolina, wife of the late Hugh Edward Hughes, Jr., entered into eternal rest Monday, July 29, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. 

Beth was born January 11, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Carroll Webster Horton, Sr. and the late Vermel Sarah Smith Horton. She enjoyed shopping and buying antiques. Her favorite shows were Perry Mason and Gunsmoke. 

She is survived by her son, Mark Edward Hughes (Sherri) of Walterboro, SC; daughter, Jennifer Christine Hughes of Walterboro, SC; two sisters, Debra Jennings and Sandra Horton; two brothers, Charles Thomas Horton (Monarae) and Carroll Webster Horton, Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica H. Bailey (Eric); grandson, Mark Edward Hughes, Jr. (Caroline); and great-grandchildren, Braydann Rose Bailey, Gabriel Luke Bailey, and Ryder Jett Bailey.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741, and/or to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2132.
