Lloyd E. Sineath

Lloyd E. Sineath, 79, of Hanahan, SC, loving husband of 57 years to Peggy Gillam Sineath, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Saturday, June 29, 2013. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, N. Charleston from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Born July 13, 1933 in Charleston, SC, son of Alfred J. and Lessie Peake Sineath. Lloyd joined the Air Force at the age of 19. After his military service, he and Peggy were married on April 15, 1956 and moved to Miami, FL, where Lloyd attended the University of Miami. Graduating in 1960, they moved back to Charleston, where their daughter Lisa was born in 1961. Together, they managed Lloyd's father's business until 1964. In 1964, they moved to Columbia for Lloyd to attend law school. Their son, David, was born in 1966 while they were in Columbia.

Lloyd was a real estate developer and apartment owner, which together, he and his brother built and managed. He was a real estate attorney for 30 years in North Charleston and a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Lloyd served on the Board of Trustees for Charleston Southern University for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Hanahan; his son, David Lloyd Sineath of Hanahan; a sister, Reby Sineath of Mt. Pleasant; a brother-in-law, David Gillam (Mary) of Goose Creek; sister-in-laws, Florence Brown and Mary Bessinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Dawn Sineath; three sisters, Margie Westbury, Wanda Sineath and Althea Broadway; and two brothers, A. J. Sineath, Jr. and Arnold Sineath.

Lloyd was a loving husband, father and a devoted christian, whose generosity was well known throughout the Charleston community. He was committed over the years in donating thousands of Peggy's CD's to help touch the lives of others.
