Lloyd Leroy Martin, 92, of James Island, South Carolina, widower of Velma Geraldine Brownlee Martin entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 31, 2013. His Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 a.m. Inurment will be private. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street. Lloyd was born November 28, 1920 in Maple City, Kansas, son of Lee Irdell Martin and Octavia Margaret Weston Martin. A retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army, he served during WWII and the Korean War. He was the Director of Surgical Residents with Medical University of South Carolina. He was a member of the first Kidney Transplant Team of MUSC and the American Burn Society. Lloyd was also former member of the Maple City Masonic Lodge #242.He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Martin Bullock of James Island, SC and Linda Martin-Malcolm of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Dorothy Martin Rahn of Arkansas City, KS; four grandchildren, Mary Bullock Sires, Johns Island, SC, Sarah E. Bullock, Philadelphia, PA, John M. Bullock, Jr., Charleston, SC and Keegan M Malcolm of Jacksonville, FL; three great grandchildren, John M. Bullock, III, Hope E. Sires and Taylor A.
