Lloyd Gordon Jones

Lloyd Gordon "Gator" Jones, Sr., 82, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Agnes May Benton Jones, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 4, 2013. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Lloyd was born March 24, 1931 in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of the late Gordon Emsily Jones and Ira Spain Glover Jones. Lloyd was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean War, a retired general foreman for the Charleston Naval Shipyard and a member of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek.

He is survived by his wife of Goose Creek; his daughters, Linda Coleman and Ann Williams; his sons, Lloyd Gordon Jones Jr., Michael D. Jones and Charles "Chuck" E. Jones and wife, Marty; his daughter, Rhonda Heide; sister, Fayrene Ney of Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law, Laura Jones of Decatur, IL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, 141 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
