Entered into eternal rest on the morning of January 24, 2011, Lionel "Bill" Francis Williams, widower of Jennie Lee Owens Williams.  Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 am.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.


Mr. Williams was born January 30, 1921 in Barnwell, SC, the son of John Williams and Ella Mae Peacock Williams.  He attended The Citadel and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Ft. Johnson Baptist Church and retired from Westvaco. Mr. Williams was a Mason and the recipient of a 50 year Masonic Gold Pin. He was a manager and supporter of The American Legion Baseball for over 20 years.


He is survived by one son: Frank L. Williams of Charleston, SC; one daughter: Joel Sheldon of Saluda, SC; four grandchildren: Darryl Jennings, Edward Jennings, Scott Jennings and Nicole Snider; six great-grandchildren: Clinton Snider, Megan Snider, Travis Jennings, Garrett Jennings, Thomas Jennings, and Michael Jennings.


Memorials may be made to The American Legion Post #147, 968 Folly Road, James Island, SC 29412.
