Linda Renee Rourk Zauner, 55, of Goose Creek, SC, wife of Robert Michael Zauner entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 26, 2020. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.
Renee was born April 3, 1965 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Jacob Cecil Rourk, Jr. and Linda Coburn Rourk.
Renee was a 1983 graduate of Middleton High School in Charleston. She worked for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Base until her job was eliminated by the base closure. She then worked in various positions with the State. She loved to ride her motorcycle with her husband and fellow riders, and she also rode in the sidecar of the motorcycle she inherited from her father when she was no longer able to ride alone. She loved traveling on cruises and especially to the mountains with her husband. She fought a long and increasingly difficult battle with Multiple Sclerosis with bravery and the loving support of her husband, Bob.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, and her aunt, Dianne Boersma, all of Goose Creek; her cousin Command SGT. Major James Boersma, U.S. Army, wife Alyson and children of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and step daughter Brooke Nicole Zauner of Aberdeen, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Cecil Rourk, Jr. and her grandparents Jacob Cecil Rourk and Myrtle Young Rourk and Arthur David Coburn and Louise Sweat Coburn, all of Charleston.
She will be buried in the family plot in the graveyard of Old St. Andrew's Parish Church. Due to the pandemic and out of concern for the health and safety of our loved ones, burial will be private. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4601 Charlotte Park Drive, Ste 100, Charlotte NC 28217, by mail or on line.
