Linda Schroder Rickborn died on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina on January 20, 1943, to the late William Henry Schroder and Marie Lilienthal Schroder. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Thomas Rickborn to whom she was married for over 61 years. Linda and Glenn lived on the Isle of Palms for more than 57 years before moving to Mt. Pleasant.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 300 Palm Boulevard on the Isle of Palms. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, 10 Cunnington Avenue, Charleston.
After graduating from Rivers High School in Charleston, she trained as a professional secretary and worked for Geer Drug Company. Linda worked for many years as the church secretary for St. Marks. She later worked as a receptionist and scheduler for Children’s Dentistry and then Douglas S. Dick Orthodontics.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on the Isle of Palms and served on many committees and on church council. She deeply loved the church and its congregation and had the honor of being on the building committee when the congregation moved from Sullivan’s Island to the Isle of Palms. She spent countless hours creating and sewing the church paraments and banners.
Linda loved camping with Glenn. She was an avid supporter of Clemson University. She loved watching all Clemson sports, especially going to Death Valley to watch Clemson Tigers football. She was a former member of the Charleston County Clemson Club Board of Directors.
She is survived by her two sons Glenn Thomas Rickborn, Jr. (Jessica) and Timothy W. Rickborn (Nerina), and four grandchildren Rachel, Sarah, Noah, and Lilly. She is also survived by her brother Eddie Schroder (Diane), her cousins Carol Stokes and Rick Lilienthal, her sister-in-law Lois Barsha, a niece and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be sent to Lutheran Homes of SC Foundation at 300 Ministry Drive, Irmo, SC 29063 or to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 300 Palm Boulevard, Isle of Palms, SC 29451.
Arrangements will be handled by J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
