Linda Marie Oxford

Linda Marie Oxford, 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of John Bruce Oxford, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 28, 2024. 

Linda was born August 21,1947 in Los Angeles, California, daughter of the late James Mitchell and Phyllis Simmons Mitchell. Linda and John were born at the same hospital 2 months apart, met in 2nd grade and started dating in Jr High school. Married in September of 1966, Linda and John maintained a loving and supportive marriage of 58 years. Linda was a devoted wife and mother who prioritized her family, was loved by all who knew her and made life fun. Raising three children of her own, four when counting John, she also graciously welcomed foster children into her life while in California. The family moved to Charleston in 1982. Along with managing the household, plus raising the children, she also managed the books of several companies throughout the years. Linda loved a good book, cooking for her family, and gardening. The family recalls many fond memories camping, boating and water skiing. Linda loved to sail with John and many vacations were spent in the Caribbean with lifelong friends enjoying the wind, water and sun. Linda was the guiding light and strength for John and the family, and she will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her loving husband John Bruce Oxford, her children, Jeri Lyn Stenhouse (Mark), Chris Oxford (Christina), Jackie Oxford-Craft, and 5 grandchildren, Jack Oxford, Cate Oxford, Lucy Oxford, Sidney Craft, Maddie Craft, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

The family would like to thank the amazing caretakers and staff at Ashley Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care for their loving support and care of Linda over the past 2 years.
