Linda Lou Getz, 75, of Summerton, SC, wife of Jerry Lee Getz entered into eternal rest Friday, December 13, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at her daughter Wendy's home.
Linda was born December 16, 1937 in Mongo, IN, daughter of Mark Leonard Larkin and Florence Reade Larkin. She was an administrative assistant in the school system. Linda Getz was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was caring, always keeping us in line and loved everyone. She was known for always being cold and needing lots of sweaters. She always knew what was best for us and didn't hesitate to tell us so. She was the wisest in the family. Enjoyed crafts and crocheting and always kept us well stocked."
She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Getz of Summerton, SC; daughters: Wendy Smith (Kevin), Kathy McCarthy (Raymond), Penny Dulin (Barry Phelps), Rhonda Johnson (Jamie); son, Mark Getz (Susan); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, Inc., 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 108B, Columbia, SC 29204.
