Glenda Carroll, 70, of North Charleston, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011. The relatives and friends of Glenda Carroll are invited to attend her funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Carroll was born on June 2, 1941 in Greenwood, SC, the daughter of the late Leroy H. Martin and Vivian D. McKinney Martin.  She was formerly employed as a secretary with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW.  Ms. Carroll attended Cherokee United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Kevin R. Newton; her brother, Harold Martin of Goose Creek, SC; and her constant companion, Harold Bottoms, Sr. of North Charleston, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Glenda's memory to The American Lung Association, 44-A Markfield Drive, Charleston, SC  29407.
