Lila Cantley Chance, 94, of Hanahan, South Carolina, wife of the late Harvey "Mac" Chance, went home to be with Jesus. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother dedicating her life to caring for her family.
A Celebration of Lila's life will be held Monday, July 29, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL at 10:30 a.m. Interment services will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends Sunday in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Lila was born April 16, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Frank Cantley and Bertie Varner Bunch and step-father Sam Bunch. She retired from GARCO as a weaver and was a member of Hanahan Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Samuel Chance and his wife Lynne of Holly Hill, SC; daughter Annette Bolt of Hanahan, SC; nine grandchildren Jon Bolt, Jacob Bolt, Michelle Legette all of St George, SC, Meredith Chance of Charleston, SC, Tamara Arndt of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dale Chance of Sumter, SC, Lisa Broome of Summerville, SC, Richard Murdaugh of Givhans, SC, David Murdaugh of Summerville, SC and a sister Virginia Riley of New York. She was preceded in death by her son Ray Chance; brother, Robert Cantley; and sisters Eva Huff and Mrytle Lee Bunch.
