Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 23, 2010, Lewis Hall Thomas, beloved husband of 49 years to Elizabeth Kay Hord Thomas.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas are invited to attend his funeral service at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Saturday, June 26, 2010, at ten o'clock.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday evening from five until seven o'clock. 


Mr. Thomas was born on November 19, 1936 in Andrews, South Carolina, son of the late Charles Walter and Provie Zeigler Thomas.  He attended Murray Vocational School, was the owner and operator of L. H. Thomas Plumbing & Heating Company and a Trustee of the Local Union 421.  Lewis was also an inventor and held one patent and others pending. Lewis was also in the South Carolina National Guard and Company B of the Washington Light Infantry. 


He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Kay Hord Thomas and son, Lewis Hall Thomas, Jr. both of Charleston; sisters, Margie T. Jenkins and Julia T. Hazel both of Charleston, Barbara M. Michelson of Roanoke, VA, and Mary T. Thompson of Michigan; a brother, Cecil W. Thomas of Columbia.  He is preceded in death by her sisters, Laddie T. Davis, Doris T. Eidson, and Jane T. Brown; and a brother, Charles W. Thomas, Jr.
