Leta Belle French Knowles, 88, of North Charleston, South Carolina, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Entombment, Plantation Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Leta Belle "Lee" Knowles was born March 28, 1925 in Meauwataka, MI, she was the daughter of Charlie French and Maude Belle La Munion French. Lee was the former owner of Lee's Aquarium in Parma, MI. She was a life member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Lee is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Lane (Mike) of Hanahan, SC and Suzanne McMurray (Thomas) of Beaufort, SC; sons, Randy DeGraw (Maree) of Maleny Queensland, Australia and Rusty DeGraw of Lake City, MI; brother, Donald French of Cadillac, MI. She was predeceased by her husbands; Henry DeGraw, Wilbur Bollinger and Everette "Pete" Knowles; and twelve brothers and sisters.
