Lester Leroy Petit

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 14, 2010, Lester Leroy Petit, Sr, widower of Frances Juanita Petit.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Lester Petit are invited to attend his funeral service in Wando Woods Baptist Church Saturday, July 17, 2010 at eleven o'clock.  Interment will follow service at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester, N. Charleston on Friday, between five and seven o'clock. Lester was born November 12, 1921 in Charleston, SC the son of the late George H. Petit, Sr. and Sarah E. Petit. Lester served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Wando Woods Baptist Church.  He is survived by sons: Lester "Buddy" L. Petit, Jr. and his wife Jeanine of Hollywood, SC, and Timothy R. Petit of Charleston, SC; daughters: Ann Bradt  and her husband Len of N. Charleston, SC, Linda Lassiter and her husband Charlie of Charleston, SC, and Bobbie Bencsics and her husband Barry of Hollywood, SC: sister, Margaret Beckman of Mt. Pleasant, SC, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, and a special friend and caregiver Colleen Bader. Lester is preceded in death by two daughters; Terri Lamphear and Susan Earles.    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wando Woods Baptist Church Bus Fund, 4321 Dorsey Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.
