Lester Howard "Doc" Peterman, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Geradine Patricia Peterman entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 20, 2015. His Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Doc was born September 10, 1928 in Timothy, Tennessee, son of Pendy Bedford Peterman and Estie Velma Bilbrey Peterman. He retired from the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman Senior Chief after 20 years, and he served during the Korean War. He was also the retired owner of Doc's Rental and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Geradine, he is survived by his daughter, Susan Peterman DuPuis (Scot) of Charleston, SC; two sons, Michael Howard Peterman of Charleston, SC and Stephen Randall Peterman (Colleen) of Naples, FL; two brothers, Bedford Randall Peterman of Allons, TN and Kenard Vestle Peterman of Nashville, TN; one sister, Imogene Moredock of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Andrew Scot DuPuis, Peter Evan DuPuis, Ashley Alexandra Cathey, and Kayleigh Peterman; and one great granddaughter, Luna Cathey.
