Carl Lester Cain, 91, of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Sarah Herron Cain entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 1, 2017. His funeral service will be held cryptside Sunday, February 5, 2017 in the Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Carl was born May 31, 1925 in Germantown, Ohio, one of 11 children of the late Greene and Delsie Cain. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired as a sheet metal technician at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Carl was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by the love of his life, Sarah Herron Cain of Ladson, SC; son, Tommy Wayne Cain (Debbie) of Norfolk, VA step daughter, Carole Cooper of Folly Beach, SC; step son, Robert H. Cooper of Greenville, SC; step daughter, Beverly Cooper Hiott of Columbia, SC; ; two sisters, Rae Anna Sexton (Kenneth) of Waynesville, OH and Betty Henderson of Warren, MI; brother, Charles Roy Cain of Middletown, OH; grandson, Jay Michael Kornder of San Francisco, CA and several nieces and nephews .His son, Carl Lester Cain Jr. preceded him in death.
