Leslie King Carter

Leslie King Carter, 97, of Yonges Island, SC, wife of the late William Edward Carter, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 7, 2022.

Her funeral will be held at the graveside on Monday November 21, 2022 in Bethany Cemetary, 10 Cunnington Avenue at 12:00 PM.

The family will greet friends after the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Leslie (Lek) was born April 23, 1925 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Charles Leslie King and the late Adele Bullwinkel King. She spent seventy-six wonderful years married to the love of her life, Bill Carter. Leslie enjoyed traveling with her family, bowling and participating in Church and PTA activities. She was a Charter Member of Martin Luther Evangelical Luthern Church. Leslie attended Palmer Business School and pursued a career in Accounting. She was employed by Martin Davis Insurance Company and Norvel’s Camera Store both located in downtown Charleston.

When not working, she was a devoted stay at home mom, caring for and raising her two sons. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Edward Carter (Nancy), of Meggett, South Carolina and Darryl William Carter (Elaine) of Meggett, South Carolina; grandchildren Bradley Edward Carter, Kathryn Carter Lanter, Loni Elizabeth Carter, Holly Carter Leifheit; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Henry Carter, Austin Lanter, Dylan Edward Carter and Mason Leifheit. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by a daughter-in-law, Beth Bell Carter.
