Sad to inform our friends and family Roy A. Phillips passed away March 30, 2015. His funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment with military honors, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Roy was born September 4, 1923 in Essex, New York, son of the late Marshall D. Phillips Jr. and the late Maud James Phillips. He was a WWII veteran, retired from Charleston County Public Works, was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, a life member of VFW Post 3142.

He is survived by his wife Mary E. Phillips, Goose Creek, SC; son, Larry Phillips of California; four stepchildren: Roger Howard (Susie) of Arizona, Al Howard (Kellie) of Hanahan, SC, Sylvia Howard Hawkins (Larry) and Emily Howard Smith (Ron) all of Ladson, SC; one granddaughter; five grandsons; three great-grandsons; one brother, Clarence Phillips of NY.
