Leora Kathleen Jackson, 86, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, formally of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina for over 30 years, and wife of the late James Edward Jackson, Jr. entered into eternal rest Friday, May 15, 2026.

Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 22, 2026 at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Awendaw, SC. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service.

Leora was born February 2, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Leland Leon Jackson and Aleeze Bowen Jackson. Leora was a woman of remarkable spirit and depth. She enjoyed the heartfelt melodies of country music and found joy in watching various television shows, especially soap operas that kept her engaged with their intricate storylines. Beyond that, she delighted in playing the guitar and singing, which were expressions of her creative soul. Her life was marked by treasured experiences, including attending some of her favorite bands’ performances and unforgettable Broadway plays, all of which brought her immense happiness. Her affection extended beyond people to animals, with a special fondness for Chihuahuas that highlighted her tender and caring nature. Those who knew Leora admired her unwavering honesty and her sharp, wonderful sense of humor. She was undeniably strong-willed, facing life’s challenges with determination and love. Leora’s generous heart meant she freely offered help whenever it was needed, without hesitation or conditions. Leora Kathleen Jackson’s life was genuinely full and meaningful. She will be remembered not only for the interests and passions she shared but also for the strength, honesty, and love she showed throughout her journey. Her memory remains a blessing to those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Jackson Chiola (Joey) and Linda Marie Jackson Altman (Clyde); two sons, Mark Jackson and Timothy Jackson; a brother, Andrew Jackson (Debby); a sister, Elizabeth Jackson Hunnicutt; five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Leland Leon Jackson; her mother, Aleeze Bowen Jackson; two brothers, Robert Jackson and Leland "Sonny" H. Jackson; and a sister, Amelia Ellen Hudson.
