Leonard Kenny Townsend, 65, of Summerville, SC, died Friday, August 8, 2014. His memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Leonard was born May 26, 1949 in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late Marshall Townsend and the late Stella Tackett Townsend. He was a warehouse employee in building supplies.
He is survived by a daughter, Lova Starr Townsend of Wayne, WV; a son, Kenny Marshall Townsend of Wayne, WV; and a sister, Irene Ray (Arthur) of Hanahan, SC. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Jean Roberts, Ann Martin, Brenda Threatt and Faye Newsom.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
