Leonard "Buck" Franklin Thrower, age 69, of Bonneau, SC died September 30, 2017. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 12:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Stephen's Episcopal Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born December 20, 1947 in Moncks Corner, SC, he was one of five children of the late Wilson Frank Thrower and the late Dorothy Jernigan Thrower. He was a graduate of St. Stephen High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Charleston Southern University. Buck was an Air Force veteran and a former City of Charleston Police Officer. He worked with his father at Thrower's Upholstery.
He was predeceased in death by his wife of more than 20 years, Myrna Marie Madjerich Thrower.He is survived by his daughter, Kelley Thrower (Chuck Williams) of LaGrange, GA and their children, Connor M. Williams and Kirsten J. Williams; son, Butch Thrower of Hanahan, SC (Angela) and their children, Golden K. Thrower and Anderson B. Thrower; three sisters and brother: Lynn Dusenbury (Sam) of Conway, SC; Jerry Thrower (Linda) of St. Stephen, SC; Patty Reaves (Steve) of Hanahan, SC; and Carol Harkness (Johnnie) of Hanahan, SC; nieces and nephews; his companion, Lou Nell Merritt of Moncks Corner, SC.
