Leona E. Lee

Leona E. Lee, 88, of Summerville, SC and former long time resident of North Charleston, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, 2105 Cosgrove Avenue at 10:30 am. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Leona was born September 22, 1926 in Charleston, SC, the youngest of nine children of the late Harry White Estes and the late Mary Alexander Estes. She was a member of Cherokee United Methodist Church where she had been very active in church activities including her Lee Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women. She was an avid Clemson fan.

She is survived by three children: Bonnie Phelps (Tommy) of Summerville, SC; James Keith Lee (Sharon) of Augusta, GA; and Cheryl Lee (Dale) of Bonneau, SC; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillian Estes of Summerville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Lee; and two sons, Robert W. Lee. Jr. and Gary L. Lee.
