Leola "Lee" Corbett Cox

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 3, 2012, Leola "Lee" Corbett Cox, widow of Richard L. Cox, of North Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's North Area Chapel Monday between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.

Mrs. Cox was born July 11, 1929 in Manning, SC, one of nine children of Willis Corbett and Olive Dubose Corbett. She was formerly a title clerk and bookkeeper for car dealerships. Lee was a member of Wando Woods Baptist Church and the VFW Post 3142 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, ¬Wayne Cox and his wife, Sue Ellen, of Conover, NC, Renee McWhorter of Cottageville, SC, Richard Cox II and his wife, Marie, of Greenville, SC and Denise Hackney and her husband, J.R., of North Charleston; three sisters, Bessie Webb of North Charleston, Lillian Grubbs of Lexington, SC and Ethel Miles of Summerville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Leslie, Marcus, Ryan, Alyssa, Riley, Jeremy and Kaitlin; six great-grandchildren; and special friends, Mabel Steveson, Ruth Blackmon and Mary Mazurek.

The family would like to express special thanks to Sue Johnson and Odyssey Hospice.
