Lena Mae Hodges McKinley, 95, of Charleston, SC, first married to the late Aubrey LeGrand Capps and widow of Theodore Roosevelt McKinley, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 10, 2013. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 pm. Interment at Carolina Memorial Park will be private. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Mrs. McKinley was born May 30, 1917 in Conway, SC, daughter of Judson L. Hodges and Cammie Elaine Johnson Hodges. She was a retired piece worker for Manhattan Shirt Factory. Later in life she was a caregiver and companion for the elderly. Lena enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of New Beginnings Community Church where she was a member of Young At Heart and enjoyed her Faith Ruth Sunday School class.
Lena is survived by her brother, James P. Hodges of Texas; grandchildren: Sandra Craven and her husband Mark of Summerville, SC, Cammie Mitchell and her husband Dewayne of Chickamauga, GA, Cathy Elmore and her husband Doug of Mobile, AL, Deanne Ketchum and her husband Patrick of Ladson, SC and Ronnie Capps and his wife Karen of James Island, SC; great-grandchildren: Kristin Sullivan, Kasi Runion, Kristofer Runion and his wife Lauren, Morgan Metzger and her husband Chris, Taylor Westall, Anthony Craven, Shelby Craven, Patrick Ketchum, Ashley Ketchum and Emily Ketchum; and great-great-grandchild, Aysia B. Wilson, Elijah and Levi Mitchell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Ann Anderson and a son, Ronald Capps.
