Lena "Tootie" Hires

Lena Hires, otherwise, known as Tootie, passed away on Tuesday November 1st 2022. She was 96 years young, a 
devout Christian, faithful to the very end. To Tootie, age was just a number. She even started art school at the age of 50. She loved family, working in the yard and gardening.
 
Tootie was preceded in death by her husband, sweetheart of a Marine, Harold Eugene Hires.
 
She was born August 31, 1926, in Brideburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Richard Allen Embleton and the late Margaret K. Steffey Embleton. 
 
She is survived by her three children, Stan Hires and his wife Gail, of Bradenton, FL, Stephanie Russell and her husband Ray of Gambrills, MD, and Angel Wilcome and her husband Rick of Mt. Pleasant, SC; she had eight grandchildren and  four great grandchildren with one more on the way.  
 
Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm, and the family will receive friends an hour before the service. Interment will be on Monday, November 14, 2022, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902 at 2:00 p.m.
