Leland Victor Leith

Vic Leith, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly in Georgetown, SC. His Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.

Vic was born October 7, 1955 in Bangor, Maine, and grew up on Isle of Palms, SC, son of Anne Lively Thornton and Francis Bart Collins. He was a talented artist and loving father, brother, uncle, and son. Vic attended the College of Charleston, and graduated with a degree in Construction Management from the New England Institute of Technology in Providence, RI in 1989. He was a Master Builder. A Mason, he was known for the beauty of his landscape paintings, and loved being on the water.

He is survived by his mother, Anne Lively Thornton of Mount Pleasant, SC; his father, Francis Bart Collins of Mount Pleasant, SC; his daughter, Kristen Victoria Leith of Raleigh, NC; his sisters, Nancy Parlman Heide of Mount Pleasant, SC, Autumn Leith Steele of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Laura Rountree Martin of Charleston, SC, and Ellen Rountree Richards of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and six nieces and three nephews. He is also survived by a great-niece and great-nephew.
