Leize Leman Glover Willis, 64, entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2021, at her home on Johns Island after an extended illness. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in the St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Hwy., Johns Island, SC, with the Reverend Gregory A. Snyder and the Venerable Callie Walpole to officiate. A reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Leize graduated from First Baptist High in downtown Charleston and University of the South (Sewanee) in 1979. Upon graduation, she engaged in the family business of planting on Johns Island, where her family has lived for six generations, and later was a top agent with Kiawah Island Real Estate. She was a member of the Charleston Garden Club, a past board member of Sea Island Academy, a member of Sea Island Yacht Club, the Ladies Benevolent Society, and served several years on the Altar Guild at St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Seegars Glover and Harold Glover; and her late husband, Bennett Talmadge Willis Jr. She leaves behind her son, Robert Edgar Bennett, III; sister, Ethel Lockwood Glover Morrow; brothers, Harold Lee Glover and Edward Guerry Glover; numerous cousins; nieces; and a nephew.
