Lee Austin Norvell

March 24, 1949 — October 30, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 30, 2011, Lee Austin Norvell, Major (US Army, ret.). Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services at the graveside in Bethany Cemetery, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10:30am. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Tuesday, between 5:00 and 7:00pm.

Lee was born March 24, 1949 in Patuxent River, Naval Air Station, Maryland, the son of Forrest H. Norvell, Jr. Capt. (US Navy, ret.) and Ruth Stuhr Norvell. He was a 1971 graduate of The Citadel and served in the United States Army, where he retired as a Major. Lee was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church and The Citadel Brigadier Foundation.

He is survived by one brother: Forrest H. Norvell, III (Cassie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three nephews: Forrest H. Norvell, IV (Meghan), William Austin Norvell and Travis Woodrow Norvell; and two great nephews: Forrest Henson Lee Norvell and Ford Tompkins Norvell.

Memorials may be made to St. Johannes Lutheran Church, 48 Hasell Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
