Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 29, 2011, Lawrence Marion Strock, widower of Catherine Tucker Strock. Residence, Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, June 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel this Tuesday afternoon between 5 and 7 p.m.
Mr. Strock was born September 4, 1929 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Lawrence M. Strock and the late Janie Beard Strock. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church and was a retired sheet metal worker for the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen S. Moxley of Charleston, Linda S. Wiegert of Johns Island; two brothers, B. Wilson Strock and Edward Mackey both of Charleston; a granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Craft and a great grandson, Christopher W.C. Ponder both of Charleston. Mr. Strock was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Henry Strock.
