Lawrence "Lonnie" Mixson III

January 29, 1938 — February 17, 2021

Lawrence "Lonnie" Harry Mixson III, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Susan Tovey Mixson entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 17, 2021. His family will receive friends at the home at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Lonnie was born January 29, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Lawrence Harry Mixson, Jr. and the late Florence Ida Swan Mixson. He was a retired marine terminal manager and enjoyed sailing, traveling, dancing, reading, and discussing history. He was a member and past president of the Major General William Moultrie Chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a member of the Founders and Patriots of America and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Lonnie received the Presidents Award for his volunteer service at Fort Moultrie.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Susan "Suki" Elizabeth Mixson (Harold Caddell) of Hollywood, SC; two sons, Lawrence H. Mixson IV (Karen Michelle Wilkens) of Hanahan, SC and Merrick Tovey Mixson (Jennifer McLeod) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Ann Mixson Simmons (Jerry) of Johns Island, SC.
