Laura Ann Wallace, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, beloved wife of the late David Gordon Wallace, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, 1 Bishop Gadsden Way, at 11:00 AM. Laura was born January 1, 1940, in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late Robert Moulder Williams and Annie Lee Williams. She attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a major in French Studies. During her college years, Laura met and fell in love with David, her husband of 65-years, and together, they traveled the world as a strong and supportive team with David’s career with General Electric that spanned over 40-years. Together, they had a passion for community service and were supportive of many of Charleston’s charitable organizations, but perhaps Laura’s deepest passion, was always being there for her children … children she loved and cherished so deeply. David and Laura started their life in Charleston at Kiawah Island, then moved to Vendue Range and have lived happily at Bishop Gadsden for the past 14-years. David and Laura loved traveling and visited many domestic and international destinations following their retirement on Kiawah Island in 1999.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Debbie Wallace Woods (Bob) of San Marcos, TX; son, David G. Wallace, Jr. (Jeni) of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren: Parker Carroll (Ashlee), Peyton Carroll (Jamie), Maggie Caudle (Lance), Will Woods, Whitney Andrews (John), Jacquelyn Duplantis (Cody), Jett Scarborough and Reese Scarborough; and multiple great grandchildren.
Laura was predeceased by a grandson, Spencer Woods.
Memorials may be made in Laura’s honor to the Employee Appreciation Fund of Bishop Gadsden, MUSC Heart And Vascular, or First (Scots) Presbyterian Church.
