Larry Jackson Collins

Larry Jackson Collins, 66, of Santee, South Carolina, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 in St. Andrews Church Mount Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in Sam's Hall at the church. The family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
Larry was born October 7, 1949 in Gainesville, Georgia, son of the late Grover Herschel Collins and the late Ella Mae Morris Collins. He was the retired owner of Collins Office Supply and served in the United States Air Force Reserve. Larry was a Rotarian and former Board Member for the Charleston Animal Society. He was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club, EAGC and a founding member of the Charleston Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He also served as president of the Trident Academy Board of Directors.
He is survived by daughter, Katie C. Carter and her husband, Marcus, of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Lawrence A. Collins of Johns Island, SC; two grandchildren, Jackson Carter and Elizabeth Carter; sister, Leah C. Robertson of Gainesville, GA; niece, Terri Robertson; nephew, Don Robertson. He is also survived by his former wife, Betsy Bamberg of Charleston, SC.
