Larry Wayne Barnes, 78, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 30, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 11:00 a.m.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in the Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Larry was born November 7, 1945 in Walterboro, South Carolina, son of Boyd Washington Barnes and Florene Crosby Barnes Cox.  He was a retired Sheet Metal Specialist in HVAC. Larry was actively involved in Citizens Band Communication and was an avid fisherman. 

Larry is survived by his three sisters: Deloris Barnes Hudson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Ann Barnes Bates (Charlie) of Charleston, SC and Clarice Barnes Miller (TJ) of Middlesex, NY; brother, Johnny  Cox, Jr. (Joe Parker) of Silver Springs, MD;  six nieces and nephews: Richard Hudson, Kimberly Hudson, Russell Barnes, Tammy Miller, Teri Miller and Tommy Miller. 

He was predeceased by his parents, step-father, John E. Cox, and brothers, Boyd Lee Barnes and Russell James Barnes.
