Lanelle Stewart, 89, of Charleston, SC,  widow of Roy L. Stewart, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 31, 2022. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:30 pm at the Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 pm until the time of service.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park on Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Lanelle was born January 7, 1933 in Barnwell County, SC, daughter of the late Audrey V. Hutto and Minnie Long Hutto.  She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and Rice Business College.  She was a longtime member of Cooper River Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday Class.  Following that, she was an active member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.  She also worked as the Bookkeeper for the The Hanahan News.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Stewart of North Charleston, Dewayne Stewart (Rhonda) of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Dayle Hatcher (David) of Hanahan, SC; two grandchildren, Chip Hatcher and Ellie Hatcher; several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and only sister, Eleanor Hutto O'Neal.
