Laine Elizabeth Almstead Quinn

November 9, 1950 — August 5, 2018

Laine Elizabeth Almstead Quinn, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Zennie James Quinn, Jr., entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 5, 2018 surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 3:00 p.m.

Laine was born November 9, 1950 in the Panama Canal Zone, daughter of the late Major George Merritt Almstead, U.S. Army (Ret.) and Lastenia Guevara Almstead. She moved to Charleston in 1978 where she continued as a Medical Technologist for the Medical University of South Carolina until her retirement.

Laine is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Zennie; two daughters: Lisa Marie Quinn and Kathleen Quinn Clair (Michael, Jr.), all of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren: Mia Merritt Clair and Charlie Quinn Clair.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Merritt Almstead.
