L. Wayne Pearson

Wayne Pearson, 70, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, died March 15, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in All Saints Lutheran Church, 2107 N. Highway 17 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. Henry Stuhr, Mount Pleasant, on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Wayne was born on January 23, 1948 in York, South Carolina, son of Clarice Childers Pearson and the late Lewis Paul Pearson. An active member of All Saints Lutheran Church, he graduated from Moultrie High School and Newberry College. Wayne was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Order and an inductee into the Kappa Alpha Court of Honor. He served as an elected Trustee of the Board of Newberry College for 15 years and continued to serve as a Trustee Emeritus. Wayne was organizer and President of Lowcountry Savings Bank and Southcoast Community Bank. He served on the South Carolina State Board of Financial Institutions.

He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Patricia Brehmer Pearson, their sons Lewis W. Pearson Jr, and Patrick Carter Pearson; his daughter-in-laws Carrie Mann Pearson and Molly France Pearson; his wonderful grandchildren Haywood Roland Pearson, Betty Reece Pearson and Harper Elizabeth Pearson; his mother Clarice Pearson and his brothers Stan, Ronnie, Frank and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church of Mount Pleasant or Newberry College, 2100 College Street, Newberry, South Carolina 29108.
