Kurt was born June 14, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Leroy Harrison Keller, Sr. and the late JoAnn Roth Keller.  He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1982.  He earned his bachelor's degree in 1986 from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, double majoring in Mathematics & Computer Science, and Business Administration.  He joined Theta Chi Fraternity where he served as Treasurer and Vice President.  He also earned his master's degree in 1995 from the George Washington University in Washington, DC in Information Systems Technology.

Kurt had a very successful professional career in technology, starting out as a Systems Consultant for two smaller companies before joining Ernst & Young, LLP's National Tax Technology Practice in Washington, DC, from 1987 through 1997, where he moved through several positions before becoming an Associate Director.  Kurt then worked for Dell Computer Corporation in their Advanced Systems Group from 1997 until 2001, advancing to Senior Manager of the Dell Technology Consulting Group.  From January 2001 until July 2013, Kurt worked for EMC Corporation in the Federal Division, advancing from a Manager of Pre-Sales Systems Engineering to District Sales Manager.  In July 2013, Kurt moved to NetApp, Inc., where he worked as District Sales Manager of the Federal Division, until his retirement in 2018.

A lifelong lover of sports, Kurt played basketball at Archbishop Curley High School and at Washington College, where he was captain his senior year and achieved the 1000 point award.  He was inducted into the Washington College Hall of Fame on October 21, 2000.  After college, Kurt also played professional basketball in Ireland for a season.  He then took up the game of golf, which became his lifelong passion.  He enjoyed many annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Scottsdale, Arizona; Ocean City, Maryland; Bethany Beach, Delaware and other destinations with life long friends.

While he was successful in many areas of his life, he will be remembered most for the way he loved his family.  Kurt and his family enjoyed many special memories over the years on summer vacations on Hilton Head Island, SC, as well as other vacations to the Grand Canyon and Scottsdale, Arizona; California; Hawaii; Kentucky; Florida, including the Florida Everglades, Marco Island, Naples, Destin, Disney World in Orlando; and the Bahamas.  They also enjoyed numerous skiing trips over the years to Colorado, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Western Maryland.  After purchasing a second home near Bethany Beach, Delaware, the family enjoyed many years in and around Bethany Beach.

Kurt was diagnosed in 2012 with Parkinson's Disease and was later further diagnosed with Multiple Systems Atrophy with Parkinsonism and Dementia.  He battled a very long and courageous fight against a horrendous and debilitating disease.

Kurt is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl; children, Megan Elizabeth Keller and Brandon Michael Keller, all of Mount Pleasant, SC; brothers Leroy Harrison Keller, Jr. and Erik Louis Keller (Kristen); nephews, Brett Keller (Morgan), Dylan Keller and Riley Keller; niece, Lauren Keller Whitman (Adam) and great nephew Caden Whitman, all of Baltimore, Maryland; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
