Kristopher Paul Basala

Kristopher Paul Basala, husband of Jessica Schmidlapp of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011.  The Funeral Service for Kris will be in St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 4:00 PM.  Inurnment will follow in the churchyard.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Reception Hall.   ARRANGMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.  Kris was born in Mendota, IL, a son of James and Darlene Rice Basala of Mesa, AZ. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and was Director of Marketing for the Flippen Group in College Station, TX. Kris was passionate about sharing his talents.  His philanthropic work included Board President of Operation Home as well as involvement with Water Missions International.  In addition to his parents, Kris is survived by his wife, Jessica Schmidlapp of Mt. Pleasant, SC; formerly of Cincinnati, OH; their daughter, Charlotte Grace Basala of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and two brothers, Tony Basala of California and Mark Basala of Illinois.  The family requests memorials to be sent to the Operation Home, 1250 Fairmont Avenue, Mt.
