Konstantinos Z. Ioannidis, 81, of Piedmont, South Carolina, formerly of Charleston, SC, widower of Joyce Zimmerman Ioannidis entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 18, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 24, 2018 in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, 30 Race Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with Trisagion beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Konstantinos was born March 27, 1937 in Nea Iraklitsa, Kavala, Greece, son of the late Zaferios and Vaseliki Ioannidis. He served in the Greek Navy and Merchant Marines before becoming an American citizen. Konstantinos was a mechanical contractor and an entrepreneur. He often gave of himself to help family, friends and strangers. He will be deeply missed by all.
Konstantinos is survived by his son, Kostas Jeffrey Ioannidis and daughter-in-law, Melissa of Easley, SC; three grandchildren: Konstantinos, Eleni and Katie Ioannidis; and sister, Sophia Vlavianos and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Katina; and brothers: George and Rigas.
