Kevin Westney Kane, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina.His funeral service will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 at the St. Philip's Church, 142 Church Street at 11:00 am. 

He was born on March 6, 1952 in Philadelphia, where he grew up the third of nine children. He lived many years in Atlanta, where he was a successful businessman working for RBM of Atlanta. Finally, Kevin moved to Charleston with his wife of 22 years, Jeannie, where he thoroughly enjoyed this time in his life. In Charleston, he created his own touring company, Sweetgrass Tours and Charters, where he gave the most fascinating and memorable tours, like touring with a professor.

Kevin was passionate about family, his daughter, Chelsea, and rugby. He was fortunate to have his wife, Jeannie, who took extraordinary and loving care of him in his time of need, loyal to the bone.

Kevin will always be our brother. He had an especially close bond with his brothers, Danny and Moley, and had a best friend in Danny. Above all else, Kevin was a father. To say he adored his daughter, Chelsea, is an understatement. Then there is rugby. When Kevin found rugby, the world opened up for him. He was an extraordinary athlete in many sports and excelled in rugby, captain of the Atlanta Renegades team, and a sport in which he formed strong and lasting friendships. He treasured his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; daughter, Chelsea (Kyle); stepsons: Price, Hunter, and John; grandchildren, Asher and Kai; in-laws: Dr. and Mrs. Gene Cutler, Doc and Paula Gilbert, David Gilbert, and Joe and Lindy Raad; daughters-in-law: Rebecca and Candice; siblings, Jessie, Daniel, Katy, Laura, Aidan, John, Mary Jude, and Isabel; and nieces and nephews, Max, Trevor, Quinn, Jack, James, Emma, Drew, Mary Westney, Emily, Danny, and Casey.

Through his health challenges in recent years, Kevin learned how much he is loved.

Kevin was a warrior.
