Kenneth Earl Villeponteaux

Kenneth Earl Villeponteaux, 69, of Huger, South Carolina, husband of Linda J. Villeponteaux entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 13, 2022. His graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in St. Thomas and St. Denis Cemetery, 1513 Cainhoy Road at 11:00am. The family will receive friends Monday, April 18, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., - Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. 

Kenny was born November 1, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Benjamin Daniel Villeponteaux and Rosemary O'Neale Villeponteaux. He played football at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC and also at North Carolina A & T where he earned his bachelor's degree. After graduation he became the assistant football coach at North Carolina A & T. He retired as an equipment operator for Lexicon located at the Nucor Berkeley Plant. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and loved to cook.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda; stepson Virgil Albers of Huger, SC; two step grandchildren Bre Albers Windham (John) of Huger, SC and Chance Albers of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Joyce V. Ward of Georgetown, SC and Barbara Jansen of Charleston, SC; 10 nephews and three nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Michael W. Villeponteaux, Richard D. Villeponteaux, and Benjamin "Butch" T. Villeponteaux; and his faithful companion, his black lab, Quenby.
