Kenneth Albert Goodman

August 5, 1930 — January 7, 2014

Kenneth Albert "Ken" Goodman, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Marion Goodstein Goodman entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 7, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 in Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Congregation, 90 Hasell Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, (Huguenin Avenue). The family will receive friends Thursday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Kenneth was born August 5, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, son of Leo Solomon Goodman and Sarah Horwitz Goodman. He was a Retired Broadcaster. Kenneth was a member and past President at K.K. Beth Elohim Reform Temple. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of The High School of Charleston and attended The Citadel. He was a member of the Rotary Club of West Ashley, Paul Harris Fellow, Washington light Infantry, a founder of the Military Magnet School, Member and former President of Am. Federation of Television and Radio Artists, former President of Brother's Broadcasting, Recipient of the SHAFTO Award from the University of SC School of Journalism, past President of the Charleston Tour Association and First Recipient of the Elizabeth Young Award, Past President of the CRC of the Charleston Jewish Federation, and Owner/ President of Goodway Advertising.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years of Charleston, SC; son, Harold Heyman Goodman, and daughter, Beth Hope Goodman, all from Charleston, SC and two special companions, Bray and Winton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Congregation, 90 Hasell Street, Charleston, SC 29401, Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, James Island, SC 29412, and/or American Heart Association of South Carolina, 409 King Street, Suite 300 Charleston, SC 29403.
