Kenneth Cherry, 70, formerly of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 3, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held on March 29, 2025 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Abbey, (The Delbarton School campus), Morristown, New Jersey.
Kenneth was born October 16, 1954 in Clydebank, Scotland, son of the late William Cherry and the late Elizabeth Ross Cherry. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Andersen Cherry; three children, Ross Cherry (Kala) of Athens, AL, Neil Cherry (Monica) of Dallas, TX, Elizabeth Faux (Brian) of Chantilly, VA; and eight grandchildren, Savannah, Andersen, Davis, Peyton, Hudson, Quinn, Hadley and Ruthie
A graduate of Rutgers University, Ken was a devoted educator with the Bernards Township School System in the Special Education Department as well as the Head Boys’ Soccer Coach, prior to retiring in South Carolina. He was well respected by his soccer peers and his passion for soccer extended to the various teams he coached both at the community and state level. He was an avid Liverpool F.C. and New York Ranger supporter. His love for the outdoors and music were only surpassed by the love he had for his family.
