Kenan Colbert Koll, 28, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of William "Billy" Charles Koll IV passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A Celebration of Kenan's Life will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends at the church following the service . Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Kenan was born June 30, 1985 in Salisbury, Maryland, daughter of Kenny Lee Colbert and Sue Burke Colbert. She was a Systems Administrator/Human Resource Assistant with William M. Bird Company. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority (ADPi), the Junior League of Charleston, and a regular volunteer at Hope Lodge. Kenan had a contagious passion for life that influenced many people. Her smile would light up a room. She enjoyed traveling to many places in the U.S. and abroad, and she loved UNC and Clemson games. Her favorite activity was spending time with friends and family, but most of all, precious time with the love of her life, Billy, and their dog, Jetty.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Koll of Charleston, SC; her parents, Kenny and Sue Colbert of Huntersville, NC; her brother, 1LT Pete Colbert of Fayetteville, NC; her grandparents, Pete and Lucy Colbert of Franklinton, NC, and Louise Burke of Louisburg, NC. Kenan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kenan's name to the Kenan Koll Cancer Fund, (3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414) which will establish a scholarship in Kenan's name for deserving high school students. Through this scholarship, Kenan's love for others will continue to make a difference.
