Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 4, 2012, Kellinger R. Cotton, Jr., husband of Clara Bow Martin Cotton. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Kellinger R. Cotton, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in The Episcopal Church of The Holy Communion, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment, Ravenel United Methodist Churchyard, Ravenel, SC. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Wednesday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Kelly was born January 8, 1926 in Charleston, SC, the son of Kellinger Ridgewell Cotton and Lena Beaty Johnson Cotton. He served in The United States Navy during World War II. He attended San Diego State College and The University of South Carolina and was a graduate of The Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. He retired as a Pharmacist with Felder-Cotton Drug Stores. Kelly was Past President and Secretary of The German Friendly Society, former Junior Warden of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, a member of Union Kilwinning Lodge #4 A.F.M., The Washington Light Infantry and The Charleston Yacht Club.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one son: Kellinger R. Cotton, III of Charleston, SC, two daughters: Lorelei C. Faucette of Savannah, GA and Heidi C. Starr (Jerry) of Fort Benning, GA; four grandchildren: Nathaniel, Brittany, Cameron and Kyle. Also, a very special sister-in-law, Jimmie L. Martin Savarese of Beaufort, SC and two nephews Martin Joseph Savarese (Irene) and Barry Michael Savarese (Elsie).
