Keith Ivey, 87, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Julia Capshaw Ivey died Sunday, July 28, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 in Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Road at 2:00 pm. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Keith was born August 11, 1925 in Scott, GA, the son of the late William Robert Ivey and the late Nancy Jane Logue Ivey. He was retired from Shop #26, Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Welder and was a US Navy WWII veteran. Keith was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. He was a former pilot with his Cessna Aircraft, motorcycle rider, and square dancer.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years of North Charleston, SC; daughters, Teresa Boggs of North Charleston, SC and Regina Ivey of Charleston, SC; son, Denis Keith Ivey (Janet) of Charleston, SC; brother, William Bryant Ivey of Hiwassaee, GA; sisters, Avis Walker and Fannie Maud Brantley both of Wrightsville, GA. There are five grandchildren, Dale Boggs, Lisa Spencer (Daniel), Kyshia James (Tyler), Kevin Wilson (Casey), Kelley Elliott (Paul); and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson Joshua Ivey.
