Kaye S. Garris

Kaye S. Garris, 70, of North Charleston, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. 

Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. Sanders and Marjorie R. Sanders. Kaye was employed with the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Charleston for over 35 years.  In addition, she was a member of the Charleston Exchange Club Women’s Auxiliary and the Cathedral of Praise Church.  Kaye "Nana" dearly loved her grandsons, Kash and Kannon, being involved in their soccer and basketball activities, and volunteering at their school, Cathedral Academy.  They were the highlight of her life.
 
Kaye is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wendell W. Garris; daughter, Kendell Garris; son, Cade Garris; and two grandchildren: Kash Garris (11), and Kannon Garris (10).  She is also survived by a brother, Charles Sanders (Sheri); and a sister, Deborah Travis.
 
Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Cathedral of Praise Church, 3790 Ashley Phosphate Road at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday in the Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
