Linda Kaye Mitchum went to her heavenly home on October 29, 2025 at age 88. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at East Cooper Baptist Church, 361 Egypt Rd., Mt. Pleasant at 12 noon, with a reception immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service.
Born in Murray, KY, Kaye grew up on a farm and learned to value hard work and adaptability. Kaye’s passion and focus was family, supporting her husband as they built a business and all family members in their individual life goals. She always put others first and her patient and kind nature suited her well in her work with disabled children in North Carolina and Wisconsin. Kaye was a long-term member of East Cooper Baptist Church and enjoyed being part of Sunday School and other neighborhood community groups. Her sweet and inclusive demeanor drew people to her, and she had many friends throughout her life. What made her a lifelong friend was her loving character, excellent judgment and quiet strength. Kaye was a good cook, a wicked wordle player and loved college football, especially the University of Kentucky and Clemson. She enjoyed the Kentucky Derby annually and often hosted Derby parties.
Kaye is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John; sister Faye, son Mark (Elizabeth), daughter Cheri (Timothy-deceased), and grandchildren Allison (Sean), Ian, Alex, and Eliza.
If desired, donations can be made to Water Missions International, https://www.watermission.org.
