Kay Eileen Scarbrough, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, died peacefully Friday, August 27, 2021 in Santee, SC. A Graveside Service will be held in Carolina Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Kay was born April 6, 1939 in Asheville, North Carolina, the only child of Clarence and Millie Harben.
Most of Kay's years were spent in and around the Charleston area. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School class of 1957.
Kay's extroverted personality served her well over the course of her life. This aspect of her personality was integral in the running of her own dance studio while still in high school and then later in life when she ran her own printing brokerage business.
Kay loved to travel with her husband Vernon and was an active member of the James Island Yacht Club's Women Auxillary for many years.
Kay is survived by her children: Kristy Judd, Martin Scarbrough and Stephanie Korenek; her grandchildren: Devon Davis, Quentin Bork, Kelly Skelly and Jason Korenek; and her great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Riley Skelly, Avery and Shayla Davis and Silas Bork.
