Katrina Lynnette Boyer
August 9, 1958 — April 19, 2021
Katrina Lynnette Boyer, 62, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 19, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, April 30, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the West Ashley Chapel. Masks and social distancing will be observed.
Katrina was born August 9, 1958 in Escondido, CA, a daughter of Camilla Carpenter Boyer and the late Robert Dean Boyer. Katrina was a long time resident of the Coastal Center in Summerville, SC and a former resident of the Dills Bluff Community Residence, James Island, SC. Katrina's father was very instrumental in the establishment of the first kindergarten for pre-school mentally retarded children in 1964. Katrina was a member of the Ashley River Baptist Church special education Sunday school class for many years. After Sunday school, Katrina liked to go to McDonald's for lunch and then for a stroll through WalMart. Katrina loved playing with all of her stuffed animals, balloons, balls, wooden blocks, and strings. Very simple things made Katrina happy, especially being with her family. Katrina was raised with a swimming pool and loved to get in the water every chance she got. She enjoyed watching the puppies and kittens on the Animal Planet Saturday mornings. Katrina always loved little babies and children, especially her nieces and nephews. They were her buddies. Katrina was our shining light and we will miss her dearly. We know Katrina is now with her da da da. Until we all meet again in heaven…
Along with her mother, Katrina is survived by her sisters, Sherry Boyer Knight of Charleston, SC and Dee Dee Boyer Jordan (Stan) of West Union, WV; niece, Brandi Mae Jordan Ludwig (Alex) of York, PA; nephew, Stanley K. Jordan, Jr. of Charleston, SC; great nephew, Blake Robert Ludwig and great niece, Skylar Mae Ludwig both from York, PA.
